The Perfect Solution for Missing Teeth

If you’ve lost a tooth as a result of trauma or decay, it can affect your ability to chew effectively while leaving you at a greater risk of developing gum disease and infections. Not only this, but it can really have a detrimental effect on your self-esteem.

Nobody wants a failing smile – and at NuDental, we offer a simple, elegant solution; dental implants.

Dental implants replace your teeth’s natural roots. They allow dental crowns or full-arch restorations to be firmly placed in a way that provides rigidity and structure; restoring your smile while retaining a natural appearance.

Consisting of a small titanium post that is implanted into your jawbone, dental implants fill the bone socket where your missing tooth once sat. Once firmly in place, the implant will be used to hold a permanent replacement teeth in place.

Your Journey with Dental Implants

The Assessment

Due to the nature of the procedure, your dental implants will be placed over the course of several appointments.

In your first appointment, we’ll assess your teeth and jawbone by taking x-rays to find out whether dental implants will be a good fit for you. To be able to hold the implant, your jaw must have adequate bone density. If your jaw isn’t suitable, a bone graft may be carried out.

At this point, we’ll talk you through the procedure in-depth, provide you with information about the cost, and answer any questions that you may have. If you decide that dental implants are for you, we’ll work with you to create a treatment plan.

The Placement

The first step in the dental implant process will be to prepare your jaws and gum ahead of the placement of the titanium implants.

Following this stage, we’ll need to give your jaw adequate time to recover and for the implants to fuse in position. This may take several months. We’ll be able to advise you on the expected duration of your recovery. At this point, you’ll be provided with a temporary tooth or teeth.

Once your jaw has fully healed, we’ll take impressions of your mouth so that permanent replacement teeth can made. Finally, when the crown is ready, we’ll secure the crown or full-arch restoration securely onto your dental implant.

The Results

Dental implants are an effective solution for the replacement of severely damaged or missing teeth. Implants are long-lasting, providing stability, while preventing bone loss in your jaw.

Having implants will mean you’ll be able to enjoy improved self-confidence – the natural appearance of your well-placed dental crowns will really give your smile a boost.

Dental Implant FAQs

How long will my dental implants last?
Dental implants are designed to be a permanent solution for supporting replacement teeth. Once in place, provided a good standard of oral hygiene is maintained, there is no reason why implants couldn’t last for many decades. In time, the crown may need to be replaced, however, typically these last for 15-20 years.
I have more than one missing tooth, can I still get dental implants?
If you have more than one missing tooth, providing you have adequate bone mass in your jaw, multiple implants may be used. For up to an entire arch of teeth, All-On-4 implants or implant-supported dentures may be a suitable option.
Is the dental implant procedure painful?
Throughout each stage of the dental implant procedure, we’ll provide you with local anaesthetic which will numb your mouth. You won’t feel a thing. As with any surgical procedure, some discomfort during your recovery is possible, although this shouldn’t involve more than mild pain and swelling once the anaesthetic wears off. If needed, this can typically be managed with over-the-counter pain medication.
How can I find out whether dental implants are right for me?
The best way to learn about whether dental implants are right for you is to arrange a consultation where we’ll be able to assess your teeth and jaws in depth.
